Secret Garden

Another single colour layout I did, this time using the colour purple. In every imaginable shade - haha! This layout was actually inspired by the book of the same title which my little one (featured here) was reading at that time. I named it such because of all the flowers and also the hidden journalling behind the photos. Used lots of Stickles on this layout as well!

By The Sea

This layout was done using mainly a single colour - blue, with the only other colours being black and white. I chose the colour blue to match the beach theme, and had a field day with Ranger's Stickles and Prima blings here! I created "waves" using Autumn Leaves' "Elegant Flourishes" clear stamps by Rhonna Farrer (one of my favourite stamps). I stamped and embossed the flourishes on the cardstock, and then applied Stickles on them, to give them that glittery effect. I then also added Prima's "Say It In Crystals" blings to create even more glittery "waves". Stickles was also applied to the title, buttons, large flowers and the rim of the tag.

Fab Find!

I just found out that my layout "Today..." has been selected as the Fab Find for 23 May on Coordinates Collections, as I had also posted it in their gallery! This is such a pleasant surprise! Thanks so much to Deanna for choosing my layout!

The Joy Of Music

I did this layout for a Scrapjacked! challenge featuring a gorgeous design from Kate O'Brien. The layout reflects my daughter's love for music, and I used papers from Basic Grey's "Sultry" and "Sugared" range, as well as from Creative Imaginations' Art Warehouse range. And having just bought the new Crop-a-dile Big Bite, I just had to try it out on a grommet which I used as my flower centre - haha!

Today ...

I did this layout for a challenge on One Little Word. The word for the challenge is "Today", but I did a slightly different take on the word, presenting instead what my daughter means to me today, instead of what today means to me. I used patterned paper from Basic Grey's "Sultry" range, and embellished the layout with Hambly overlays, ribbons, and flowers mainly from Prima.

The journalling reads: "All the dreams I prayed you'd be are all the things you are. You were once my little girl and now my shining star."

Darling Daughter

Another layout which I did for a Made With Love challenge last year and won. It was an art inspired challenge and we had to scraplift from an Oktoberfest poster:

I lifted the yellow/orange, brown, red and green colours, the circular picture with diagonal extensions, the "rays", and the title placement across the bottom of the layout. Had fun with sequins and blings for this one!

Africa

I did this layout for my DH. The photo was taken on a hunting trip he went on with some friends in 2005, in Mozambique, Africa. Hence the entire "Africa / Survivor" theme of the layout! I love the S.E.I. Madera Island range of papers and embellishments, and thought they were so suitable for this layout.

Happy Memories

I did this layout for a challenge requiring us to use recycled materials in our layouts. Among the recycled items used here are corrugated cardboards from a postal box (the larger one painted in pink and distressed, and the matting for the photo painted in green and also distressed), the backing of a Prima "Say It In Crystals" packaging (used as the second layer of photo matting), two clothes price tags (at the top left and bottom right of the pictures), and flower cut-outs from a magazine (forming part of the flower centres). Quite pleased with how this layout turned out!

Birthday Fun

This is the second layout on my daughter's birthday. I just love the expressions on the kids' faces in these photos!

Celebrate

This is the first of a two-page layout I did on my elder daughter's birthday celebrations. I like the effect of the red KI Lace cardstock against the black background.

Jade & Gold

This is a layout I completed today, on my elder daughter's very first Singapore Youth Festival Choir Competition held on April 15 this year. I just had to scrap this as I thought the girls looked so lovely and so all-grown-up in their gowns! And in case anyone is wondering, jade and gold are their school's colours, hence the colours of their gowns. The photos were taken in school just before they left for the competition.

Remember You Are Loved

I did this layout yesterday, for my two darling daughters. The papers are actually from two different Prima collections, and the matting is done using patterned papers from Melissa Frances, but I thought the colours work so well together, and I immediately knew what I wanted to do with them when I got them. I used Ranger's Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Dusty Concord to ink all the edges - love the effect of the purple against the patterned papers!

Design Team's Layout Of The Day!

I've just discovered that my layout, "Butterfly Sonata", was actually chosen as the Treasured Scrapbooking Design Team's Layout of the Day for 22 April 2008! How cool is that? I'm so totally thrilled!

The Girls

This is the second layout I completed two days ago. I actually used a similar colour scheme to the "Joy" layout which I did previously as I'm intending to put the two together as a two-page spread. This photo was taken at a photo session we did in March this year, and I got the inspiration for the layout from a challenge sketch at Lotus Paperie.

The Magic Of Disney

I completed another two layouts yesterday! Hooray! This first one is of our trip to Tokyo Disney in December of 2006. For the layout, I used patterned paper from Crate Paper's Katlin Collection - love the texture of these papers! - and included the Disney guide as well as Disney passes from the trip. I cut out the flowers from the patterned paper and stickled the cut-outs to lend a more "magical" feel to them, and then used them to form a double-layered pocket at the bottom left corner of the page. The Disney guide goes into the bigger back pocket and the Disney passes into a smaller pocket in front.

The photo itself is triple-mounted on patterned paper, and I punched the borders of the outermost matting myself using Fiskars' Threading Water Border Punch - my new toy! I'm just having so much fun with it! I also then included some hidden journalling behind the picture.
