Shutterbug

Here's a layout I just completed today using Basic Grey's Curio papers. I love the pretty, lacy papers, which also lends itself very well to some cutwork.

I further added to the "softness" of the layout with some flowers, netting, and laced crystals.

And the hand-cut butterflies provide a 3-dimensional look to the layout.

Thanks for dropping by! :)

Imagination

After feasting my eyes on Prima's new releases for CHA, I felt compelled to use my existing Prima collections to make way for the new ones I'm definitely going to get! Lol! So here's an almost all-Prima layout - the only things non-Prima here is the stamp which is from Tim Holtz, and the alphas which are from Jenni Bowlin.

I found Prima's lovely Romance paper from their Annalee collection in my stash, and instead of the usual patterned paper or cardstock, I used their Annalee Boxed Journal Note Cards to mount the photo onto.

I also used several different Prima laces to create the horizontal strips across the page.....

..... and further embellished this with Prima flowers, vines, and pearls.

The title is pasted onto the white space in the photo.

Thanks so much for dropping by!

Materials used:
Patterned Paper - Prima Marketing - Annalee Collection - Romance

Rejoice

I actually started on this layout last December but never got around to finishing it until now. Terrible huh? Anyways, I finally completed it and I like how it turned out.

It's actually quite a simple layout to put together. The papers from Creative Imaginations' IOD - Night Divine collection, just screamed at me to be distressed and torn, so that was exactly what I did! I tore out a "window" at the centre of the paper, and placed the photo within this window.

I then decorated the layout with some laces and Christmas vines from Prima, and butterflies from K & Company.

As I wanted the layout to be nice and sparkly, I applied stickles to the angel at the top left of the layout, as well as to the title, and the muslin cloth which I had gathered beneath the Rossetti Rose.

And there you have it! Simple right?

Thanks so much for stopping by! :)

Materials used:
Patterned Papers - Creative Imaginations - IOD - Night Divine Collection - Angel Voices, Holly Stripes
Title - Bo Bunny - Noel Collection - Rejoice
Flowers - Prima Marketing - Rossetti Roses (Sara), Holiday Celebration Frost Vine; Petaloo - Canterbury Collection - Rose Blossoms (White)
Butterflies - K & Company - Tim Coffey White Floral Grand Adhesions Dimensional Stickers, Brenda Walton Flora & Fauna Botanical Layered Accents

Laces - Prima Marketing
Adhesives - Beacon's 3-In-1 Advanced Craft Glue, Kokuyo Dotliner, EK Success 3D-Dots
Others - Muslin Cloth, Ranger Ice Stickles - Crystal Ice, Ranger Distress Stickles - Rock Candy, Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Victorian Velvet

G'day!

My first layout for the year! These papers from Graphic 45's Once Upon A Springtime collection are just gorgeous! I love the shades of greens and pinks, and found these lovely flowers and trims from Prima to complement them.

I raised the frame of the layout using pop-up dots, and lined the inner portion of the layout with muslin cloth for texture.

I always like to have lots of texture in my layouts, so I added even more texture by distressing the papers and adding some laces, trims, vines and blings to the layout.

And dimension is provided by the use of more pop-up dots for the photo, "post card" cut-out, and journaling tag.

Thanks so much dropping by! :)

4th Friendship Swap

So, we did our swap last Friday, and here are my calendar pages. I used Basic Grey's Curio papers, embellished with Prima vines and flowers, some muslin cloth, and a little bird die-cut using Tim Holtz's Caged Bird Die. The alphas for the month are from Jenni Bowlin Studio.

Here's a look at an individual page.

I tore out and distressed a "window" for the calendar which is printed and mounted on cardstock and inserted within this "window".

I then decorated the calendar page with the flowers and vines, and placed the die-cut bird at the bottom right of the "window" using pop-up dots. I stuck the month onto the bird's body.

And here's a look at the "buffet spread" of calendar pages (thanks Esther for the photo) - 24 designs in total, 24 pieces of each design, each lovingly crafted by 24 of us scrappers! So thank you ladies for your works of heART! The pages are lovely! :)

Materials I used:
Patterned Papers - Basic Grey Curio Collection - Camelia, Rose Water
Cardstocks - Bazzill Textured Cardstocks
Vines - Prima Marketing - Summer Carnation - Thistle, Melon, Lemon, Wisteria
Flowers - Prima Marketing - Mini Rose (in shades of blue and pink), Innoscence Collection (Wedding Gown), Athena Flowers (Powder Puff)
Alphas - Jenni Bowlin Studio - Reverse Tiny Alpha Cardstock Sticker - Black, Brown
Ink - Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Walnut Stain
Die - Tim Holtz Alterations Die - Caged Bird

Friendship Swap Sneak

I've been working on a little project involving a group of scrap friends. We're doing a friendship swap where each of us are to create a single calendar page, in multiples of 24! Yes, 24 pieces of the same page, enough for 2 full calendars for 24 people. Well, after some panicking as the deadline looms nearer, I finally managed to finish my 24 pages today - hooray! And here's a sneak peek.

We'll all be meeting up later this week to put our calendars together, and I can't wait to see what the others have created!

Happy New Year!

"Another year over, and a new one's just begun", to quote the late John Lennon. How time flies!

I just got back from a short vacation in Sydney, Australia, where we played with the kangaroos and koalas, and rode alongside dolphins and sharks! It was an amazing holiday, and we had a wonderful time - the weather was perfect, the food was great, and everyone had loads of fun all around!

Now I'm ready to get back to some serious scrapping! But first, here are some calendars I made as Christmas gifts for some wonderful people in my office. The concept for each is the same but I used a different set of papers for each calendar.

Using DCWV's La Creme Collection:

Using My Mind's Eye's Pretty Please Collection:

Using Collage Press' Camden Collection:

Using Basic Grey's Green At Heart Collection:

And for the guy in our department, using K & Company's Life's Journey Collection:

I used 7 Gypsies' metal gears for the cover here instead of flowers, for a more "man" look - haha.

So there you have it.

Thanks so much for dropping by, and a very Happy and Blessed 2011 to all of you!
