I made this card for a sweet young lady, a very close friend of my daughter's, and whose birthday is tomorrow. I used BoBunny's Welcome Home collection, combined with a 'True Friend' sticker from their Gabrielle collection, one of my all-time favourites from BoBunny.

Here are some close-ups.

Simple & Sweet Memories

This photo of my girls was taken last December at Bald Hill in Sydney, Australia. Bald Hill is a popular jump-off point for hang-gliders and paragliders on windy days, and as you can see from the photo, it was a very windy day! Simple and sweet memories! I'm so excited to be using my new Prima Pixie Glen collection for this layout. These papers are so pretty and so wonderful to design with!

I tore out a frame from the Devon paper, and adhered it to the Rose Arbor paper with 3D foam tapes to create a shadowbox effect. I then did some layering and used 3D foam dots for the photo and embellishments, to create lots of dimension.

I added some muslin to give the layout a very soft overall look that complements the soft, pastel shades of the papers.

And for some added sparkle, I brushed some stickles onto the muslin and the leaves.

Of course, I just had to use the new Shabby Chic resins - they're absolutely divine! I love how they instantly add texture and dimension to any page.

Thanks so much for dropping by! :)

Mini Canvases

A couple of weeks back, the girls celebrated Teacher's Day at their school, and we made a series of mini canvases as Teacher's Day gifts. I was tasked with creating the "prototype", lol, and created a few slightly different versions.

I misted the canvases with a mix of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists in various colours, and using Prima Marketing's lovely new masks. I then used some muslin overlaid on a piece of burlap as a base for the flowers. The words were printed on cardstock, cut into strips and then inked.

I did a slightly different version for the male teachers.

Here's a look at the entire collection of canvases.

Thanks so much for dropping by, and for your lovely comments! :)

The Flat Swap - Final Products

And here's my final product for The Flat Swap.

The front ...

... and the back (yes, we made 16 pieces altogether).

I used Tattered Angels' Jazz Blue glimmer mist for the background, inked the edges and corners with Tim Holtz's Walnut Stain Distress Ink, and then brushed on some Perfect Pearls in Blue Smoke and Rust over the corners and sides. I also dripped some Tattered Angels Waterfall Glimmer Glaze over the top of the coasters, before stamping on the words using Ranger's Jet Black Archival Ink, which I find works best as the words come out really clear and dark. I then used a pen nib dipped in some India ink to draw the flowers on the back, the outlines of which had been created using a Prima mask.

And here's a look at everyone's coasters together. They were all so lovely to look at!
